Bishop Alexander Mileant was born in Odessa, Russia in 1938. He graduated from Holy Trinity Seminary at Jordanville, NY. in 1967. The same year, after ordination to the priesthood by Metropolitan Philaret (of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad), he was appointed rector of the Protection of the Holy Virgin Church in Los Angeles, California.
He has a BS and MS degrees from the Cal State University LA and an Engineer's degree in Telecommunications from USC.
He was tonsured a Stavraphor Monk at Holy Trinity Monastery in 1995 by Archbishop Hilarion (of Australia and New Zealand).
He was ordained as a Bishop of Buenos Aires and South America on May 28th of 1998 in the Synodal church in New York. Speaks Russian, English, Spanish, and Greek.
Most of his time he dedicates to the Holy Trinity Theological School on the Internet (www.holytrinitymission.org) and the publishing of missionary booklets in several languages.
